Who we are
Captain Tom's Boat Removal was founded in 2017 by Tom, a lifelong boater and former marina operator who got tired of watching boat owners struggle to find anyone willing to handle the hard removals — sunken vessels, abandoned sailboats, fiberglass hulks that had been sitting for years. He built the company specifically for those jobs: the ones other services turn down or overcharge for.
Since 2017 we've grown into a nationwide operation, coordinating crews across the United States. Every job is managed with the same approach: assess honestly, price fairly, and do the work without cutting corners on safety or environmental compliance.
What makes us different
- We handle the full job. Removal, transport, hazardous fluid extraction, title transfer, and proper disposal — one company, start to finish. You don't have to coordinate three different contractors.
- We quote before we show up. Price is agreed on before any work begins. No surprises when the invoice arrives.
- We say no when it's the right answer. If a vessel isn't safely removable with our current equipment, we tell you that upfront instead of attempting it and making things worse.
- We document everything. Photos, condition assessment, hazardous material handling records. Useful for insurance claims, marina compliance, and your own records.
Our experience
Over the past eight years we've handled hundreds of removal and salvage jobs across the country — from small aluminum fishing boats in landlocked driveways to 45-foot sailboats grounded after hurricanes. We've worked with individual boat owners, marina operators, insurance adjusters, county harbor departments, and environmental agencies.
That range of work means we've seen most of what can go wrong and most of what makes a job more complicated than it looks. We bring that experience to every quote and every job site.
Environmental responsibility
Every vessel we remove gets properly inspected for fluids before transport. Fuel, oil, coolant, and bilge water are extracted and disposed of through licensed facilities. Fiberglass hulls are processed through recycling programs where available. We don't dump, and we don't leave contamination behind.
This isn't marketing language — it's the law, and it's how we've operated since day one.
